The municipal territory of Brenzone, which stretches about 50 sqm, includes the small towns of Castello, Castelletto, Marniga, Magugnano, Porto and Assenza, as well as some other smaller villages scattered along the slopes and mountains.
The area still maintains many of the characteristics of former times. For instance, the small port is enclosed by traditional fishing villages and the hills are lined with quaint hamlets.
At a short distance to the coast, vis-à-vis the small town of Assenza, arises the Isola del Trimelone. This isle has been an Austrian-Hungarian military depot before World War 1 and often changed hands in the subsequent period.
Tourism is still one of the most important economic factors in Brenzone. Along the lake you will find hotels, holiday resorts and campsites, as well as numerous restaurants where you can try various local specialties such as fish, olive oil and wine.
The area is ideal to relax or do sports, e.g.: sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, water skiing, hiking, mountain biking and hang gliding.
