Cycling at Lake Garda - Services and Bike Parks

Description

This guide presents services for cyclists and bike parks on Lake Garda ... because it takes more than just route maps to enjoy cycling!

Dolomites - Garda Bike Bus
The Lake Garda - Dolomites bike shuttle at the northern end of Lake Garda is a service for people who wish to cycle in the Brenta Dolomites. The bike bus operates three times a day from the end of June to the beginning of September. It takes visitors from the bus park in Torbole to the Comano Terme station, stopping in Largo Medaglie d’Oro, Riva del Garda, Ballino and Fiavè on the way. Bike spaces on the bus have to be reserved. For further information and schedules, we recommend you visit the bus website* . The Dolomites - Garda bike bus service comprises three more bus lines that take visitors further north, up to the valleys and hills of southern Trentino.

Walk&Bike Bus
The Veronese ATV transport company provides two bus lines for excursionists and cyclists who wish to reach Monte Baldo or the Lessinia area. The first, "Bus Walk&Bike Garda-Baldo” line, operates daily from mid-June to mid-September between Garda, San Zeno di Montagna and Prada. The second, “Bus Walk&Bike Lessinia” line operates on Saturdays and Sundays from mid-June to mid-September between Verona central station, Bosco Chiesanuova and San Giorgio. The bus tickets are payable, with an extra charge for bicycles. Bus schedules can be found on the ATV website.

Apam Bike Bus
The Apam transport company of Mantua has created the bike bus which runs from the city to Pozzolo and Valeggio sul Mincio up to Peschiera del Garda. The Apam bike bus operates on Sundays and bank holidays from the end of March to the end of October. With this on-request service, cyclists can take their bicycle with them on the bus bike trailer which has space for 35 bicycles. Furthermore, the bike bus service will operate on weekdays for a minimum of eight people. We recommend you visit the Apam website* for further information on prices and the booking process.

Gravity Bike Park on northern Lake Garda
The second part of the guide is dedicated to bike parks, starting with the Gravity Bike Park on the northern shore of Lake Garda. Three bicycle paths are planned for the park. When our staff published this guide, one of the three, the so-called "Val del Diaol" path, had been completed. This renowned downhill that has been paved and re-opened for the park. The approximately four and a half km route leads through the wooded slopes of the mountains, with a height of more than 700 metres and slopes with a partial rise of more than 30 per cent. The Val del Diaol downhill runs along the north-eastern slope of Monte Baldo and opens the view to the town of Nago. The Gravity Bike Park comprises two more routes, that will be open to the public after a renovation - the coast trail - a bicycle path above Torbole, which is perfect for freeriding - and the 601 road which follows the historical path on Monte Baldo. For further information, we recommend you visit the facebook page* of the "Alto Garda Bike Arena" group who have renovated the Val del Diaol route.

Busatte Bike Park
The Busatte park  boasts rope bridges and bicycle routes. The park in Nago-Torbole is the only park in Trentino to have a BMX road. The 400 m route features hills and bumps. Visitors can bring their own bicycle or motocross bike or rent them on site. Furthermore, the Busatte park comprises three test tracks with various obstacles and different cross country tracks. The "BMX Garda Trentino" association offers practical and theory beginner lessons by qualified teachers. For further information on the park, its facilities and the courses offered, we recommend you visit the park website.
