With the summer season approaching, what better occasion could there be to get information about the most beautiful beaches on Lake Garda. Here is our selection, divided into two parts: the part on the eastern and northern shore is followed by a part on the western shore of Lake Garda. Here is the first part:
1- San Vigilio – Garda – “Baia delle Sirene”
Not far from the centre of Garda is the well-known languet Punta San Vigilio, from where you can admire one of the most beautiful views of Lake Garda. In the Punta San Vigilio Park, you will find the famous “Baia delle Sirene” beach (Mermaid Bay). There is a beach club, entertainment, child care and food stalls. Beach access is subject to a fee and includes use of the car park, deck chair rental, showers and WC as well as a children’s club with playground and child care. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
2– Malcesine – “Val di Sogno” Beach
The free gravel beach south of Malcesine is popular with windsurfers and sailing fans and also because it gives visitors the chance to walk along the lakeside. In the Val di Sogno (Dream Valley) beach visitors can rent parasols and deck chairs. The Isola del Sogno (Dream Island), where you can dive into Lake Garda, is only 20 metres away.
3- Nago-Torbole – “Spiaggia delle Lucertole” Beach
This is one of the smallest free beaches on Lake Garda, but also one of the most beautiful. The “spiaggia delle Lucertole” (lizard beach) in Nago-Torbole is famous for its overhanging cliff that only experienced mountain climbers dare to scale. Next to the beach is a very small car park (only 3 parking spaces). Torbole also has one of the most beautiful beaches on the lake in close proximity to the centre.
4- Torri del Benaco – “Bagni Brancolino” Beach
The Lido Bagni Brancolino is situated halfway between the towns of Garda and Torri del Benaco and roughly 1 km from Punta San Vigilio. Access to the gravel beach with low tide is subject to a fee. There is a bar service and a small car park, but not much shade.
5 –Riva del Garda – “Spiaggia dei Pini” Beach
The spiaggia dei pini (pine beach) is located in Riva del Garda and also known as “Purfina“, and because it is popular with youngsters. On the beach, there is a bar where you can buy apertifs and snacks and during the summer, there are theme parties and music is played. The grave beach also boasts a vast grassed area and is equipped with showers, deck chair rental, a swim platform with a self-contained swimmingpool and a slide on Lake Garda. The beach is popular with surfers who have their own spots.
6 – Garda – “La Cavalla” Beach
The beach is only a few metres from the centre of Garda and close to the pedestrian path that connects Garda and Bardolino, making it easy to reach for families with children. It is a free beach and offers bars and restaurants as well as deck chair rental. The water is particularly clear in this section of the lake, making the La Cavalla (the mare) gravel beach one of the most popular of the region. There is also a big car park just a few metres away.
7- Bardolino – “Mirabello” Beach
Access to this private beach, situated on the Cipriani lakeside and south of the historic centre of Bardolino, is subject to a fee. It is equipped with parasols and deck chairs and there are bars and restaurants. The gravel beach has only a few grassed areas. The water is deep from the start and the beach is very narrow. There is a small car park close by.
8- Brenzone “Castelletto” Beach
A small free gravel beach is situated in the town of Castelletto a few kilometres from Brenzone. This beach offers a bar, a restaurant and a windsurf school nearby, but does not offer much shade. The car park is quite far away from the beach.
9- Castelnuovo del Garda “Ronchi” Beach
Access to the Ronchi Lido Beach in Castelnuovo del Garda is subject to a fee. It boasts deck chair rentals, restaurants, places in the shade and toilets. Access to a nearby car park is at a charge. The beach is popular for aperitifs and parties in the evenings.
10 –Peschiera del Garda “Braccobaldo Bau Beach”
In Fornaci, close to Peschiera del Garda, visitors can spend an entire day on the Braccobaldo Bau Beach with their four legged friends. The gravel beach can accomodate up to 60 people and 30 parasols. Access for dogs is unrestricted and they will find everything they need for their stay on the beach. There is a charge for entering the fenced beach with direct access to the lake.
